About

You recognize life’s chapters when you revisit a page you wrote about yourself 8 years prior. When I first wrote this page back in 2016 I was working at a bank, running long distances, and daring to dream about a bigger life for the first time since childhood.

Jump ahead 8 years in the time-space continuum and I’ve made countless changes in my life that get me right here, in a tiny mountain town in Oregon.

In the 8 years since I first built this website, I moved from Wisconsin to Colorado, then to Oregon two years later. I paid off all my debt and publicly shared all the details down to the penny. I started investing following the guidance of JL Collins and so many members of the Financial Independence (FI) community. I donated a kidney to a stranger, started a non-profit, and helped grow it to a place of global impact before stepping down and acknowledging my desire to do something different.

I visited Tanzania and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with an interview with Good Morning America as the cherry on top. I left Corporate America to work a fantastic job in the non-profit sector focusing on animal rights. I got married, climbed up volcanoes in Guatemala, rekindled my love for creating art, stopped drinking alcohol (unless I’m in an epic setting in Ireland where I’ll order a Redbreast 21 neat and savor the entire experience), and became vegan.

I traded the Mercedes for a Subaru, can identify nearly every bird I see in the neighborhood, and am learning to tell what direction I’m headed by looking at the moss on a tree.

Life is vastly different than it was in 2016, and I’m grateful.

I’ve thrived on creating these kinds of changes, embracing uncertainty the best I can and trusting that the unfolding of every situation is for my benefit in the grand scheme of things.

My writing on this website will meander imperfectly around various topics, and the main underlying theme is fulfillment. How do I keep choosing toward fulfillment? How can I be the best steward of my income to play the long game with investing while also putting it toward the most fulfilling options in the short term? There will be a lot more questions I contemplate than that, but those are top of mind in the current season of life. If creating a fulfilling life is interesting to you, I hope you’ll read along.

Thanks for visiting.
